The town guides started in 1995 with local people giving visitors to our town an informal and enjoyable tours once a week and at the Michaelmas Fair weekend.
These were very popular so the number of tours each week was increased to two; Tuesday and Saturday.
There have been Town Tours every year since. All the Guides have a different story to tell about the history and the people of the town.
The price in 1998 was £1.50 and it is still that today.
